A Chocolate-Loving Shopper’s Paradise

Benefiting Biglife & Haven Women's Ministry

This Saturday, December 2 brings together 38 local vendors offering a variety of goods, including jewelry, skincare products, floral gifts, homemade crafts, clothing, kitchen items and more. But making the event special will be tables of CHOCOLATE! All sorts of chocolate items will be donated by local restaurants and eateries to sooth that craving for chocolate delights and make shopping that much more fun. In addition to chocolate and things to buy, a raffle will be held throughout the event for prizes donated by each of the vendors. Did I mention, there will be chocolate?

Chocolate Extravaganza 2017 Greenwood, INAll funds (100 percent) from this event will go to support two ministries. Funds will be used to send Bibles to the Congo (Biglife Ministries) and help single, homeless, local women (Haven Women’s Ministry). More than 1,000 shoppers attended last year’s event, and the organizing team is working hard to make this year an even greater shopping experience.

The organizing team had its genesis in a group of women who came together to support their gravely ill friend, Sherrie Buchanan. To show support, they organized a “bike ride” fundraiser called “Sherrie’s Ride” to honor their friend’s life. Before her passing, Sherrie encouraged this group to “all stick together.”

Chocolate Extravaganza GreenwoodThe group, now with a few new members, has done just that, continuing to work together for the benefit of others through the Chocolate Extravaganza. Team members are Carol Allen-Narragon, Marcia Duke, Lynn Jones, Sharon Keith, Kathy Kidd, Terri Landwerlen, Jessica Limeberry, Stacy Marlin and Tammy Richert.
