Express Employment Professionals Indy South

Not Just Your Typical Recruiting Agency

Since 2005, Express Employment Professionals Indy South has helped over 12,000 people find jobs with over 350 local companies, along with adding a second location in 2014 in Columbus, Indiana. Assisting local businesses in finding the workforce they need to be successful is their goal. This can range from an accountant to an executive administrative assistant, a forklift operator, to a Seasonal Laborer for a landscaping company, and just about anything in between. Being a full-service employment agency, most of their clients utilize Express to help find the talent that they hope to hire as part of their team. This can include direct hire, their evaluation to hire program, or simply hiring for seasonal help, short-term assignments, special projects and more. Express also offers various training and leadership development opportunities. As Express has grown, the expansion of their Professional Recruiting Services has been taken to the next level. They now offer full search and placement services in the Accounting & Finance field, as well as Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering and Administrative Professionals. These are mostly Direct Hire positions where companies are looking for professionals in the $40K-$100K range!

More Than a Business

Express loves to help people succeed. They not only want to help their clients, but they also become partners, a trusted vendor where the same desires and visions are met. Owner Mike Heffner and his team become trusted confidants and build relationships that are long lasting and deeply rooted in the mission of helping others find what they’re passionate about while helping in and around the community. Mike Heffner served on the Greater Greenwood Chamber board of directors for six years and currently serves on the Talent Committee with Aspire Johnson County. Express also has several internal team members that are active with the Chamber, among other organizations. Throughout the year, Express partners with various nonprofits on different projects. One of those is The Refuge, Inc. They assist in their Backpack Drive by soliciting donations of school supplies for families in need. They also partner with several other nonprofits and service organizations including Mount Pleasant Christian Church, Johnson County Senior Citizens, Riley Hospital for Children, The Horizon House, Operation Job Ready Veterans and Shepherd Community Center in Indianapolis.

Award Winning Space

In April 2017, the Greater Greenwood Chamber of Commerce awarded Express Employment Professionals with a Pride and Progress Award for their renovation. Express needed a larger and more professional space. The administrative, accounting, engineering and advanced manufacturing recruiting areas of the company were continuing to grow and they needed room to expand for the future. This new renovation, located at 201 S. Emerson Avenue, offers 12,407 square feet of professional office space that now houses Express Employment Professionals Indy South, along with other businesses. As part of the remodel they added a new upgraded entrance with awning, new signage, lighting, landscaping and additional parking. Express then remodeled the interior, totally transforming it into a professional airy layout filled with windows and room for additional expansion. This new building allows Express to offer hope and success for potential job seekers in our community that want to find a new or upgraded career. Express is now more accessible and easier to find to those who visit their office.

Expansion Anticipated

Express plans to place an additional 1,000 associates into administrative and professional positions at over 200 clients during the next five years due to this expansion. They also plan to expand by hiring four or five additional internal recruiters and sales people. Express knows about many of the job openings before they are published and can help a job seeker put an application in at one place and allow the associate to reach multiple employers. Johnson County and Greenwood is working hard to draw talent to this area and the greater Southside and Express wants to help as many people as possible find good jobs with these companies. It is a wonderful place to work, live, learn and play!
